I can’t stop raving about the Rothenburg ob der Tauber Romantic Train Tour! From start to finish, this day trip from Würzburg was an absolute dream. The train ride through Bavaria’s countryside was so relaxing, with rolling hills and charming villages out the window—perfect for getting in the mood for Rothenburg’s fairy-tale vibe. Our guide, Anna, was fantastic! She was full of fun stories about Rothenburg’s medieval past and pointed out little details I’d have missed on my own, like the hidden carvings on the Town Hall. The Plönlein was even more stunning in person, and I got the perfect photo to make all my friends jealous. The German Christmas Museum at Käthe Wohlfahrt’s was pure magic—I’m already planning to decorate my tree with the ornaments I bought! The Medieval Crime and Torture Museum was a spooky highlight, with creepy exhibits that gave me chills but were so fascinating. Walking the battlements was my favorite part—2.5 km of ancient walls with jaw-dropping views of the Tauber Valley. It felt like stepping into a knight’s world! The Gothic Church of St. Jakob was breathtaking, especially the Riemenschneider altar, and the Market Place buzzed with charm. Three hours was just enough to explore at my own pace, grab a Schneeball pastry (delicious!), and soak in the town’s storybook atmosphere. The logistics were seamless—train tickets were sorted, and Anna kept everything on track. I added the Franconian wine tasting back in Würzburg, which was the perfect way to end the day, sipping crisp Riesling by the Main River. If you’re in Bavaria, this tour is a must-do! Rothenburg truly is Germany’s most romantic town, and I’m already dreaming of coming back. Thank you for an unforgettable adventure!
